Professional Development Series
The Professional Development Series at the School of Public Affairs is designed to provide workshops to help our graduate students prepare for their careers. Held on Saturdays throughout the academic year, workshops focus on the skills central to success in seeking and landing internships and jobs.
SPA Career Advisor
Robert SanGeorge serves as the School of Public Affairs Graduate Career Advisor, providing personalized support to students seeking guidance in their search for internships and/or full-time opportunities. Mr. SanGeorge supports students through:
- °ª´¡±«³å³§±Ê´¡³¦²¹°ù±ð±ð°ù²õ:Ìýthe exclusive X feed provides real-time information on internships and jobs, only for the SPA students and alumni.
- :ÌýLooking to work for a federal agency? The Presidential Management Fellow Program is the best way to start a career in the Civil Service! PMF Fellows are full-time federal employees for 2 years who then transition to permanent civil service status. PMF Coaching includes extensive written and webinar prep for prospective PMF candidates for the test each Fall.
Industry Days
Co-sponsored with the AU Career Center, SPA hosts Industry Days each semester. These events provide students with an opportunity to connect with alumni and employers in public service industries, growing their network and discussing job opportunities.
Working on Campus?
Graduate Student Employees are an important part of the university community. Student workers conduct research with faculty, serve as a teaching assistant, or support administrative work.
