You are here: Â鶹´«Ã½ Finance Communications Airlie Berkshire Farm's CSA Program Launch

Memorandum June 28, 2023

Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to announce the launch of the Airlie Berkshire Farm Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program. The program will make our Airlie Berkshire Farm fresh, local produce available to the AU community.

A CSA program is a direct-to-consumer farm offering that allows you to subscribe to the harvest of a farm or group of farms. By participating in Airlie Berkshire Farm CSA, you become an integral part of the Berkshire Farm community and support sustainable agriculture while enjoying the benefits of fresh, seasonal produce.

Starting July 12, the Airlie Berkshire Farm CSA will run for about 18 weeks from now through the end of October. Each week, your subscription box will feature eight to ten pounds of seasonal herbs, fruits, and vegetables including squash, berries, broccoli, potatoes, and much more.

This year, we are offering nine-week summer and fall shares for $325 each (about $36 per weekly box), plus applicable sales tax, or you can purchase a combined fall and spring share for the entire 18 weeks for $625 (about $34 per weekly box) plus tax. Our summer season offering this year is limited to 100 subscribers, so we encourage you to sign up today!

The Berkshire Farm will offer two ways to receive your CSA boxes:

  • Deliveries made to Â鶹´«Ã½ each week on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the East Campus Convenience Store (in the fall we will offer pick up at the AU Farmers’ Market) or,
  • Pick-up at our Farm Store located at Airlie in Warrenton, VA.
