Professor Cynthia Jones Wins Raeder-Taslitz Award for Criminal Justice from the ABA

AUWCL is proud to share that Professor Cynthia Jones has received the prestigious Raeder-Taslitz Award from the��. This award is in recognition of Professor Jones’ significant contribution to promoting public understanding of criminal justice, justice and fairness in the criminal justice system. Professor Jones said of the award, "I am incredibly proud to be the 2022 recipient of the Raeder-Taslitz award ��from the �鶹��ý Bar Association Criminal Justice Section. ��This award celebrates my professional passions: educating students in the study of criminal law and procedure; using legal scholarship to impact change in the criminal legal system; and working with organizations like The Sentencing Project to achieve systemic criminal and racial justice reform. ��

It is so incredibly humbling to receive an award created in honor of the amazing Myrna Raeder and my very dear friend, mentor and colleague, the late Professor Andrew “Taz” Taslitz. ��Taz was an incredibly prolific and well-respected legal educator, and he continues to play an instrumental role in my work in the legal academy. ��I am honored to be nominated for this award by Professor Angela Davis and Professor Ellen Podgor, two amazing and accomplished women and past recipients of this award.
