Kate Black, Author
Kate Black is an adjunct professor at Â鶹´«Ã½ and helped launch WeLead2025 in September 2024. Black is also an author, advisor, and advocate. Her first book is titled . She recently founded K. Black Strategies, an advocacy and public affairs consulting firm. She previously worked for over ten years in the federal government, politics and campaigns, including as Chief of Staff and Vice President of Research at EMILY's List, the largest resource for women in politics. She has also served as Executive Director of Â鶹´«Ã½ Women, a nonpartisan research organization working to uplift the voices of women and the issues they care about. Black worked previously at the Democratic National Committee and the Service Employees International Union, helping elect candidates up and down the ballot and across the country.
Committed to bringing change in her community, Black is an Ambassador for the and she co-founded a free salary negotiation program for 15,000 women with the City of D.C., the Â鶹´«Ã½ Association of University Women, and the Younger Women's Task Force. Black earned a Master of Arts degree in Women's Studies from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University in Oxford, OH.Â
