What was the most valuable thing you learned from WeLead?
WeLead opened my eyes to the multitude of ways I could lead in the political/policy world 鈥 including, but not limited to, running for office. 聽I really appreciated the variety of backgrounds of our speakers and trainers, as well as the other women in my class. 聽I'm pretty sure I learned just as much from my fellow WeLeaders as I did from our presenters!
What was your favorite part of the program?
My favorite part of the program was the exposure to different perspectives and areas of policy I may not have otherwise encountered in my job. 聽I really enjoyed the experience of putting fundraising skills to work with our class fundraiser and listening to experts talk about foreign and defense policy.
What advice would you give to the current WeLead class?
Learn from your fellow WeLeaders and be open to learning about new career paths you might have never considered, or even knew existed. 聽Follow up with your presenters if they offer to grab coffee or continue the conversation outside of WeLead.
How did you secure your current position, and did it include any WeLead networking or alumnae?
I found my current position through a woman I knew from a previous job. There is definitely power in your network, especially among women in this field!
Any other thoughts on your WeLead experience?
Keep in touch with your fellow WeLeaders and alumnae 鈥 these women are going places!
