Robert Johnson is owner, partner, and Strategic Communication Officer at Riester Influence in Washington D.C. During his more than 43 years working in journalism, political communications, and public relations, he has served in one presidential administration, counseled two governors, and handled messaging for two members of Congress. His work includes leading communications at the newly formed Transportation Security Administration after 9/11, managing global transportation communications for the Bush Administration, and serving as Chief of Staff at the U.S. Department of Transportation. He has launched and grown two award-winning public relations agencies and is recognized across four decades for excellence in public relations, crisis communications, and storytelling. He also has experience as a broadcast and wire service journalist, winning several awards for his reporting and breaking news acumen.
