- Bio
- Matthew Hartwell is a PhD candidate in International Relations at the Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s School of International Service. He is also a research associate with the Project on Managing the Atom at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center and the Center for Security, Innovation, and New Technology at Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s School of International Service. Matthew’s doctoral research examines the role of population protection in Â鶹´«Ã½ nuclear strategy throughout the Cold War. His broader research interests include deterrence theory, emerging military technology, arms control, and the domestic sources of Â鶹´«Ã½ foreign policy.
