Lindsey O’Neal (she/her) is honored to be a part of the Â鶹´«Ã½ family as a master's student in the Global Environmental Policy program at the School for International Service. She is a 2023 USAID Donald M. Payne International Development Fellow working toward her dream career of being a USAID Foreign Service Environment Officer. She is originally from Palmetto, Florida and moved to Canyon, Texas, to pursue her undergraduate degree at West Texas A&M University. She currently holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Spanish Communication and a certificate in Gender Studies. Her interests in international affairs and climate led her to be a Virtual Student Foreign Service intern working alongside Department of State diplomats, volunteer in Mexico with a rural school, advocate against coastline pollution in North Carolina, present research on sustainable design at numerous conferences, and work with local NGOs in Maun, Botswana through Peace Corps. Lindsey is a proud Latina, a first-generation college student, and a member of the LGBTQ+ community. She is committed to promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and sustainability at AU, USAID, and beyond. In her free time, Lindsey loves to bake vegan desserts and play video games with her two cats and partner in her home in Herndon, Virginia.
