Dayne Hutchinson, Ph.D. is the Assistant Vice President for Student Engagement and Success in the Office of Campus Life, with responsibility for the strategic direction and administration of six administrative units: Residence Life, Center for Community Engagement and Service (CCES), Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI), Kay Spiritual Life Center, Center for Student Involvement, and New Student and Family Programs. Prior to joining Â鶹´«Ã½, Dr. Hutchinson served as the Dean of Students at Marymount Manhattan College (MMC), providing leadership and oversight to the Office of Residence Life, the Office of Student Development and Activities, the MMC Intercultural Center, New Student and Transfer Orientations, Campus Ministry, and Student Conduct. Before joining Marymount Manhattan College, Dr. Hutchinson served as the Assistant Director for Student Affairs at Nova Southeastern University and Coordinator of the Transfer Peer Mentor Program at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. At Marymount Manhattan College, Dr. Hutchinson has also served as the Director for Student Development and Activities and Assistant Dean for Student Affairs.

Dr. Hutchinson brings to this role a rich track record of cross-collaboration and campus partnerships to advance co-curricular work, and positively impact the student experience.

The proud son of immigrants, Dr. Hutchinson is the first in his family to attend college and earn a degree. A scholar-practitioner, Dr. Hutchinson has contributed to several books focused on his research topic of student success and first-generation Afro-Caribbean student experiences and serves as an Adjunct Faculty member at the Abraham S. Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice at Nova Southeastern University and Adjunct Associate Professor of Higher Education at Pace University in New York City.

Dr. Hutchinson earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Sciences from Florida State University. He earned both his M.A in Student Affairs and Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.
