At 12:30 pm on May 12, 2021, over 1,200 members of the Â鶹´«Ã½ community gathered virtually for an important live announcement—the launch of Change Can’t Wait: The Campaign for Â鶹´«Ã½. Momentum for the campaign quickly grew. Over the next 24 hours, the announcement received nearly 20,000 views.Ìý
A year since its launch, Change Can’t Wait has now raised over $335 million towards its historic $500 million goal, supporting the university’s Changemakers for a Changing World strategic plan and empowering AU to take on society’s most complex challenges. The campaign creates transformative educational opportunities for students, advances research with impact, and builds stronger communities locally, nationally, and globally.ÌýÌý

Change Can’t Wait is removing economic hurdles and eliminating student debt through increased financial aid, scholarships, and support for AU’s equity-based funds, giving way to more critical funding for students with wide-ranging experiences and backgrounds. A $5 million campaign gift from AU Board of Trustees member Congressman David Trone and his wife, June, through the David and June Trone Family Foundation created the Trone Family Eminent Scholar Chair in Neuroscience and Behavior.
